What are good pictures?
Good pictures are in color, in focus and the subject is clearly discernable.
By submitting pictures to us, you are consenting to their public display on the
web or in other media, and you are warranting that you have the authority to
give us permission to use the picture.
How do I add water quality data?
- Register with us online.
- Add a test site by clicking on the location on the map, and pressing the Add Site button
- Fill out the site description form and save it.
- Using the add test data form, add test data as you get it.
- If you want others to see your data, and we recommend it, the site details and
your contact information must be verified by our staff. Once it is verified, the
site details are locked and the details and test data are available to the general
public.
What kind of water sampling sites are there?
- Fixed sites (we pick)
These are known point sources that have been previously identified by
complaints or public record or by regulatory action as likely generators of
pollution.
- Transient sites (you pick)
These are test sites that are of interest to you. We will accept your data
and allow you to compare it to like data from other transient and fixed sites.
Who can submit data?
Only registered users are allowed to submit data for either transient or
fixed sites.
Why?
We need to be able to reach people to confirm data, and coordinate data.
I submitted pictures via the upload page, what happened to my pictures?
We may be backlogged.
All pictures and their descriptions are reviewed and converted for best
effect on the website. If there are issues preventing their use, the submitter
will be contacted for revision or resubmission.
What kind of sampling or testing can be done?
We are interested in measuring the impact of:
- Nutrients (Nitrate/nitrogen)
- Runoff (total suspended solids)
- Human waste (coli form bacteria)
- Clarity ( turbidity).
