Mission
The mission of this web site is to help citizens find resources and information
to better understand the condition of the Patuxent River as a whole; and,
more personally, the conditions of the creeks, sub-tributaries
and other smaller areas nearest the observer. Some information available here
will be subjective and some will be objective.
This web site will accommodate many different types of information to help the
user grasp how the common resource of water is being effected by human
habitation throughout the river's full length. The graphics tools on
this site will help users visualize the overall structure of the Patuxent
watershed. The testing and recording tools will allow users to compare test
results for various impairments throughout the watershed. The photographic
tools will help us grasp the visual impact and the direct causes of problems in
the watershed and exactly where these problems can be found.
Finally, the links and informational data available here will help concerned
citizens to share their observations and direct knowledge with one another and
with the greater community. This will empower citizens with useful tools and
knowledge they can use to advance the goal of attaining the best water quality
possible in the Patuxent River.
